In 2025, I got the chance to visit DynamicsMinds for the first time. This community event for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform professionals takes place in the unique location of Portorož, Slovenia. Compared to the usual tech conferences, DynamicsMinds is a very special experience that’s hard to put into words for those who haven’t been there. You can read my earlier reflections on DM25 from my newsletter.
What was particularly wonderful was of course the presence of several Microsoft licensing-related sessions on the event agenda! I had the opportunity to kick off last year’s event with my session “Facing Your Power Platform Licensing Demons”. If you want to get a glimpse of what are the demons I talked about, below is a lightly edited version of the session deck on my brand new ShareSlides site:
My 2026 conference agenda
This year, I’ll be returning to DynamicsMinds for a licensing session addressing the new challenges that an AI-first business solutions development team will encounter. “What License Does Your Agent Really Need?” is the subject of my talk, scheduled for May 26. Go and check out the event site for a full picture of all the goodies DM26 offers to the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform community members.
One month earlier, I’ll be speaking at Update Days: Power Platform 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic, on April 27. This Power Platform conference is focused on the professional developer side of things, yet that doesn’t mean we could ignore the commercial reality of the solutions. On the contrary: the developers will often be in charge of design choices that may have a surprising impact on the license costs. In my session on licensing, capacity and cost management, I will aim to give developers a practical framework for spotting those licensing implications early, before they become someone else’s budget problem.
In addition to licensing, I will also have another session at UDPP2026 to talk about managing, classifying and rationalizing inventory for Power Platform. Because even when you have all-you-can-eat platform SKUs that covers unlimited Power Apps or Power Automate flows, there’s a real cost factor in rebuilding things that already exist. Not to mention other governance issues that arise from not having proper visibility into the digital tools of your organization.
If you’re attending either event, come find me — these topics tend to spark the best hallway conversations anyway. And if you can’t make it in person, I’ll share the key takeaways here and in my newsletter after each event.
